Today’s many Yakuza factions are patriarchal in nature but women
are integral parts of Japan’s gangland society. Wives, mistresses and girlfriends
of top Yakuza figures often undergo extensive tattooing.Centuries ago
in the days of the Shogun, Japan’s authorities would mark criminals with tattoos
to distinguish them from the rest of the population. These highly visible
tattoos usually took the form of a black ring around the arm; with rings added
as convictions increased.

Sak Yant – Thai Sacred Geometry (Yant/Yantra) tattooed in the skin.
Sak Yant is an Ancient magical practice of Sacred Geometry, using Buddhist,
Brahman and Animist imagery and magical incantations (Kata), written in Khom
(Ancient script used to write Pali Sanskrit). Here are some images of it.

Ok sorry! The Korea Tattoo post comes late. Sunrat Tattoo Studio, based in Seoul,
started in 2006. They are famous by the old school and American traditional style.
Apart from tattooing on skin, Sunrat Studio is organazing INK BOMB tattoo convention.


There are also famous people were tattooed in Sunrat like the two Japanese
tattoo artist Hiroyuki (Cotton Pickin) from Akita and Horigyn (Sword of Rebel)
from Nagoya, plus Chris Barnett (Good Faith Tattoo) from Boston.
