7 March 2011, Shanghai – The Year of the Dragon promises to usher another
successful edition of the KIA X Games Asia (KXG), held in Shanghai for its sixth
consecutive year from 28 Apr to 1 May 2012, with the return of the biggest action sports
athletes to thrill fans once again at the biggest action sports competition in Asia.
Sg. Klang Rive Bank in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is probably a paradise to many
people who admire graffiti and would spend a day to just keep walking and looking
at the graffiti art on the walls. On the 25th and 26th of last month, the Kul Sign team
ran the event two days entirely and it was a great weekend for most of the people.
Back in Dec 2010, Kul Sign Festival debuted to rejuvenate the Klang River bank’s
concrete walls with new artwork. It was also a platform create by the local municipal council,
DBKL, to give recognition to graffiti artists and celebrate some of the other emerging
urban culture like street art, mural painting, street photography, b-boy, extreme sports,
creative entrepreneurs showcase etc.
Apart from all the basic urban culture contents, what surprise me from
Kul Sign this year is, Pentax ran a photo contest with two interesting categories
- ‘Graffiti moment’ & Pentax moment’. On top of that, there was a best of

“To Be Free” is a Parkour Team in Hong Kong, and its core members are mainly
from Tuen Mun. It is a common problem that people in Hong Kong are limited
by the “environment”. People always do something which they are not willing to do
under pressures. The dreams in the old days are driven away by study, work, family
and more. Therefore, the team hope to show that the “body” should not be controlled
by “environment”, but to control “environment” by the “body”
Mad props to the team! Hopefully one day they can reach their goal,
to promote the principle of “To Be Free” throughout Hong Kong.
Presented by Nike, All-Star Weekend Battle will be held on this Sunday
with basketball, DJ, MC, graffiti, b-dance, hip hop dance and locking battles.
Seems like the spoken language battle between China and Canton is brought
