According to the lunar new year calendar, tomorrow is the first day of
the dragon year 2012. During this “Spring Festival” in China, celebrations
can last for about 15 days and lion dance is almost a must in Chinese traditions.
Last year (2011 in general calendar) I found this very creative lion dance
which was performed in Singapore 2 years ago. “Celebrate tradition with a difference”
did impress me and I kept reminding myself for 4 months so I can eventually bring
this to you. Here I wish everyone will have a special and wonderful celebration.

3 years ago I was giving a hand to my friends Shan & Come from Hip Hop Fusion
who push a lot the b-dancing and hip hop scene in China. I did a poster and ticket
design for their event “China South & North Battle Zone” for free so they invited me
to watch the battle in Shenzhen and that’s how I met Gemini from France,
who was one of the judges for that battle.
The design was changed at the end but it doesn’t matter.
Gemini’s classic locking style was a huge influence to lots of locking dancers in China.
It’s not hard to see him appearing in different international hip hop dance events like
what I did in Street Science .
Days ago Gemini shared a video to me that they filmed in NY which shows a style called
“Lock Rock ” started by Gemini. “Locking with a Rocking Flavor ” is a new Locking Flavor
mixing Locking with the top dance of the Bboys called Rocking. Check it out.

MASE crew is known as one of Indonesia’s leading Graffiti crew.
They recently celebrated their seventh anniversary and named
the event “Existence”. The event showcased the urban culture starting
from the work of graffiti artists, open cypher for bboys, bazaar that offered
interesting merchandise, and also the appearance of MC’s and DJ’s who
played underground hip-hop beats, neo soul, funk and boogie which
