The Weird Girls Project is an ongoing art experiment created and produced concept
artist Kitty Von-Sometime. It evolves ‘Episode’ by ‘Episode’ and the participants mix
between those involved from the beginning and new members increasing with every event.
The latest special photo set for The Weird Girls Project were shot in Shanghai by Tang Ting
when Kitty made her first exploratory trip to China last year. Kitty said, “The concept of freeing
women from daily behavior is a particularly enjoyable and challenging idea to engage with
in China, and the production of such large-scale events with a huge language barrier
is also an adventure in itself.” The whole set of Shanghai special can be also view via flickr.

The Japanese sensation called, デコトラ (dekotora, short for decoration truck)
has been around since the late 1960s.

Originally present only in northern Japan, the art of truck decorations
went mainstream with the release of the 1975 Toei (the company that produces
the awesome Kamen Rider series) movie, とらっくやろう (Torakku Yarô, Trucker)
and it’s subsequent sequels.

A lot of technology, engineering, and time goes into designing and setting up
the very elaborate light display that I can see. There must be a costly fix for
the truckers after hitting a small bump.
Here are some more dekotora photos. The images do speak for themselves.

Dropped by Shiro’s blog, found these human canvases from the “Midnight Block Party”
presented by Mynority Classics last month which is a hip hop party night with lots of
Dee Jays, emcees, Bboys & Bgirls as well as Shiro herself as writer from Japan.
Looks like there was loads of fun.

Just came across my friend Ole’s blog, found this interesting photo that
shows how those Shaolin Kung Fu students practice their concentration.

Maleonn is a Chinese photographer, residing in Shanghai, who has shown
extensively across China & America. His fantastical works are well respected
and he has won many awards for his originality and rich color palette.
The following images are from his photo series “King of the Ridiculous”
that were shot in United Kingdom and Spain.

“This is a ridiculous and meaningless world originally. All that we said,
artworks, poems or lies are as worthless as dust. I play a joke so seriously,
spending all the time and passion to this boundless ridiculous, fighting against
nothingness by wasting.” probably is the message that Maleonn would like
to bring to audience through his photo series.

Some German graffiti artists travelled down to India at the beginning of
this month, perhaps they thought India is not colorful enough to them,
they aimed to bring more colors to the city Mumbai. German artists like
Zebster, Wok, Loomit, Tasso, etc flew to there to give some love to the Indian.

There are more photos of the German India project from FHTF facebook.
