Impressive Korea - Three

Posted in Invasian news, Music  by Invasian Editor

Not sure if you have ever heard about Moritz Friedrich, if not, perhaps Siriusmo?
Still not? Never mind, here I’m going to introduce this music of genius to you.

Berlin-based electronic music producer, Siriusmo has been remixing and producing
more than ten years. His variable electro techno music includes many ideas and style
like house, dance, hip hop, dubstep, etc. Apart from his music, Mo is also a talented
artist who is very good at animal painting, illustration and graffiti.

During the trip in Korea, I jumped in Siriusmo’s gig presented by supercolorsuper,
pretty cool and professional event organizer in Korea. Big up to Violet, Sean
and the helpers! : ) The show was held in Rolling Hall where is near to the
Hongik University that you can buy those colorful markers which I mentioned
before. Honestly speaking, I don’t drink alcohol, but I could really get drunk
by Moritz’s music. Check the video from Siriusmo’s MySpace.

I praise Siriusmo as a genius is not because I know him personally.
If you have been following him or his music, you know what I mean.
“Bad ideas”, my favorite tracks from Siriusmo’s first album “Mosaik” which
was released last year by Monkeytown Records. I would like to share it
with you then you can judge.

His last album with 2-CD named “Pearls & Embarrassments: 2000-2010″
was released this month as well. There are 42 tracks inside that they
were produced between 2000-2010. Its excellent cover illustration is created
by Mo’s good friend GoGoPlata, who is another artist you would love his works.

I guess now you may have an idea about Siriusmo or have his songs
in your mind. Even more, if you have already fallen into him or his music
like me, it is possible to see his live in coming months.

Impressive Korea - Two

Posted in Graffiti, Invasian news  by Invasian Editor

One of the must do activities for us is definitely to check out some
stationery stores, to look for the cool & colorful weapons.
There are many choices of markers or fine liners and they are not too pricy.

It was the first time for me to try out the Korean cans. Its quality is ok, similar to
Pylox but not as good as it. But it costs 2000 KRW, like HK$14.5, 1.3 Eur
and US$ 1.9, so, fair enough!

Another wrong impression, while I was doing the magazine,
I seldom received bombing flicks from writers who stay in Korea. I had the feeling
perhaps nobody is really into bombing there besides one or two. However,
when I visited the country this time, I can see lots of tags and throw-ups in some areas,
ok, not everywhere, mainly in hot spots. At least I know there are some but not
only with crazy production or mural. I can also see lots of tags & throws from Mint,
Wanka, Dimz, etc. And it was chill to drop some bombs on street with one of the
very few graff girls Rubi from NM.

If you are into bombing, you would like Korea. You can tag around easily
on street where it is very crowded even on weekend. People on street
they don’t really care. To make it safer, you can pretend drunken people
walking on street as there are not many people would hang around in small alley
in the mid-night unless they are drunk.
