Battle of the Year Bielefeld

Posted in Events, bboy  by Invasian Editor

With different kind of reasons, I couldn’t manage to see

the battle of the year in the last few years every time when I went

to Europe. Either I missed it, or I was too early there…

But this year, I am able to catch at least one battle where it’s held

in an old train station in Bielefeld, Germany. Thanks Daniel brought us in.

We didn’t stay until the final as we were in a hurry to work on

another party. So here is just part of the event.

Dabs interview

Posted in Graffiti  by Invasian Editor

Bombing Science did an interview with Dabs, one of the early cats

smashing Taiwan.

“It’s a difficult relationship being forged between our proud little

subculture and the commercial world. At times it can be helpful,

accelerating careers into international levels, allowing writers to

see the world and realize youthful dreams. Other times, it just looks

like they’re kicking us in the balls and patting us on the back all at once.

So I recently connected with DABS (aka Dbsk1) an artist currently based

in Taipei, Taiwan with a long graffito-rap-sheet and a slighter newer

career as a artist working within the current world to talk about this

strange symbiosis and more…”

RIP Micheal Jackson

Posted in Events  by Invasian Editor

June doesnt seems to be a pleasant month. After Iz left us, now it’s the guy

who taught everyone how to moonwalk. Keep rocking in heaven, RIP MJ.

“LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” who once moonwalked

above the music world, died Thursday as he prepared for a comeback bid

to vanquish nightmare years of sexual scandal and financial calamity. He was 50.”

Aroe in New Delhi

Posted in Graffiti  by Invasian Editor

New Delhi, India. June 2009.
Not meant as a graffiti trip, didn’t plan anything, didn’t expect anything, wasn’t even really about that.. This was a short sight seeing tour of the capital of India and its surrounding areas. Me my girl, some cash, a taxi driver, a few grout pens and some montanas that magically didn’t get pulled out of my luggage. Heres sort of how it went (well, the graffiti part anyway)…

… All in all, if you were going on a graffiti campaign, India wouldn’t know what was going on frankly. I reckon you could do as many a day as you wanted, it would just be a case of what paint to use and where to get it.

.

Hong Kong Master vinyl maker Eric So has teamed up with

Japanese photographer Yasumasa “Yone” Yonehara on this

upcoming figure. Mixed with Eric So’s clean lines and round

edges, the character cleary exhibits some of Yone’s signature

semi-erotic flavor.

Hello from Germany

Posted in Graffiti, Site News  by Invasian Editor

This post is out of Asia, sorry i didn’t want to talk about but

my partner was suggesting, well…I thought i can escape a little bit

from work in Hong Kong, today I realized it’s not working…

So here I am one of the INVASIAN founders, currently staying in Germany

for an art project and will be here for another 3 months =)

I was in Berlin at the beginning of the trip, thank you Akim lending me

the mini mac (now i am using) and the tower where I could crash at night.

I really appreciate that! People there are very busy and working seriously,

therefore it was a great chance for me to find out the city alone!

One day i was walking outside myself, I saw his stuffs again this year! Every time when

I see his painting I just feel happy : ) his name is Kripoe / CBS (Thz Lush)

And Vali, who is a very sweet girl she showed me around and of course

we painted together, in a Park where lots of writers were also painting.

it is a chill place to paint and everyone is pretty nice there. We found lots of cool

bombs or pieces there behind the stadium..

She also took me back to the abandoned train station where I painted once

in 2007, my other friend Lubi told me now they have the Pimp My Ride car show

over there so we can’t paint there anymore! Also Vali said the station collapses

time by time, it’s quite dangerous to paint as well…

At the end, Vali and I went a bit wild together but I promised not to show

hers, so here was the last bomb dropped before we went home in the morning:

Dear partners, you know I’m with you wherever I am;  friends in HK or anywhere,

i miss you : ) Will continue updating the blog here as if my homies do at home

(actually i did…just in coming 3 months there could be some news from Europa,

hope our audiences don’t mind) but next post will be about China!
